Introducing my newest creative ramble.
I’ve been wanting to start a Substack ever since we launched Rodeo’s earlier this summer, but we’ve been kinda busy this summer with the app launching… and fall feels like the perfect time to start something new, so voilà.
I decided to name my new passion project The Creative Ramble, mostly because I know that’s how my brain works and I didn’t want to introduce it as one thing and for it then to turn into something altogether different (which would be entirely expected from anyone who knows me well). I also find that guard railing creativity stunts my creativity all together.
But for anyone who doesn’t know me, hi! I’m Lindsay (@lindsayrustperper). In a previous life, I was a Ralph Lauren veteran, spending almost 8 years working for the man in NYC prior to my early-30’s-life-crisis when I flipped the bird to Corporate America and went back to business school at NYU with a dream to launch Rodeo.
I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and then went to SMU in Dallas, Texas, and have spent the last 13 years building my life in New York City (yes, I’m old). Over the last three years, I’ve poured myself into building Rodeo, an editorial-inspired shopping and social platform that empowers creatives in sharing their world and everything inside.

I’m a founder, not an influencer, but I’ve found myself in a creator/influencer world, inspired by all the creativity and storytelling across many platforms, so here’s my version of creating. Yes, in a past life I was also much more active on TikTok, but I found that my extroverted-introverted self couldn’t sustain the public-facing side of creating videos. I’m hoping my writing will suffice — I enjoy writing, so will talk to myself even if no one listens.
The Creative Ramble will be exactly as it sounds. No guardrails as to what I may share. Some and/or much of what I share may be random, but I assure you there’s something behind the ramble. Don’t hold me to it, but will include (but not limited to) stuff I’m shopping for, apartment details, NYC gems, frequently asked questions, founder life stuff, and more.
